Cowboys may surprise...

Looks like those of you who despise the Cowboys may be in for a disappointment this year (There were many last year - also many who failed to take my Giants warning seriously). The Offense is looking good, and the defense is reasonable. So... I give you fair warning, I will continue to flag their accomplishments and flag their deficiencies, so at least, you will know the standings (Just in case you betting with Vegas). So the smart folks will follow my comments with a bit of expectation, the rest of you that only follow your favorites, lose at will... Me, I will bet on the winners (Money or otherwise)...heh.
I will admit up front that the special teams effort left a lot to be desired...
Since this is my very first ever post (Sports or otherwise), I expect only reasonable responses... :^)
Well, I don't really disagree with your analysis, but there was a difference in the Giants enthusiasm for the game that showed somewhere about game 11 or so... That continued after the Dallas game. I think that if you actually look at the spirit (desire) of the teams that are in the hunt from about game 12 on, you can more easily pick a likely winner.
I agree with your Washington comment...
Never really had much regard for McNabb though just because he is either really good or really bad... Seems like the bad happened at the most importune moments though...

Because Im pretty sure they brought back all the big hogs with no footwork. I mean they look good on the field, before a snap, before the opposing D Line makes F Adams look like he owns 2 left feet.

but will wait and see... After all, it takes a small and quick
defensive line to get around those hogs...

Didnt everybody hit the ground laughing as Tony Romo had a hissy fit at his O line during the Giants Dallas playoff game last year? I know I almost broke a rib.

though it was only the second time they faced Dallas that they prevailed against that offensive line. All can prevail occasionally, just not repeatedly... Yes, I'll take those overweight offensive linemen anytime, after all, most of those you claim at flat(fat)-footed are actually very athletic and quick.
Your disgust with the Cowboys does come through though... Enjoy your anger. Reminds me of my ex...

Cowboy fans and normal people. All kidding aside, Im really not a fan of that O line. I mean, you said it yourself. The giants dline was able to dominate them in a playoff game. That doesnt raise any red flags to you? Biggest game of their season and they come out lifeless? Raises questions to me.

Yo, did anybody see that article on foxsports that said the Browns where the team to beat in the AFC North? Anybody know how that writer still has a job covering football? My black and gold own that division.

I have to say (with regret) that the Giants defense looked way too good for the Cowboys this year (Monday night game). I may have to re-evaluate my ideas of a strong season for the boys.
While I do tend to pull for the Texas teams (hey, when you live here, you have to pull for somebody), I do have other favorites. Actually, I am looking forward to seeing just how the Jets fair this year with Favre...
Looking forward to a fun year though...and maybe some changes in the pre-season favorites...

... not to take the Giants seriously. They were, without a doubt, the least accomplished team in the NFC playoffs and by all right should have lost to Tampa, Dallas, Green Bay, or New England -- all of which played much better in the regular season.
Just because the last two Super Bowl winners have played much better defense in the playoffs than in the regular season doesn't mean you should go around expecting it to happen.
As for the Cowboys... I have no idea what to expect in the NFC East. If McNabb and Westbrook are healthy for 14 games, Philly may well win the division and annoy everyone expect Syracuse fans (like yours truly) and Philadelphians. The Cowboys were the top seed in the NFC last year, and even with some regression to the mean should be pretty good. I tend to think Washington slipping into the playoffs was an extreme fluke, but they're not that bad either.
