The New York Football Giants

The New York Giants are in the NFC title game. I honestly have no idea how we won that game. I'm sitting on my couch stunned.

I'm enjoying every tear out of Wade Phillips' fat face right now. I can't wait to see Terrell and Romo explain this one away. This is absolutely delicious. I really don't like that star.

I can't believe we're going to Lambeau next week.

LET'S GO GIANTS!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Mr. DRothgery, sir by hoyasaxa

I imagine you're doing cartwheels over this.

Early weather reports have it being four degrees next Sunday. Eek. Four degrees.

I hope it's a classic. Or that we stomp you, but that's unlikely.

I would be... by drothgery

... but West Virginia crushed the Orange in basketball today, too. So even with the Pack and Colts winning, it wasn't all great for me.

Err... by drothgery

The Pack and Bolts winning, that is.

Ahem by Darin H

BWHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Sorry, just had to get that out 'boys fans. I saw 3 great games this weekend, and completely ignored anything else that might have happened (first playoff game I've missed since the Giants/Ravens superbowl).

Go Favres!

Eh. by drothgery

I only count one good game, or maybe one and a half.

I liked watching GB/Seattle after the first four minutes because I'm a shameless Packers fan, but unless you are or you really hate the Seahawks, I can't see how that counts as a great game.

The Jags seemed to pretty much fall apart after halftime, so even though they went into the locker room tied, it didn't really end up as a good game.

And while I live here in San Diego and so am somewhat partial to the Chargers, that was an ugly game filled with injuries, flukey turnovers, and strange officiating (both in terms of calls and non-calls).

So that leaves Giants/Cowboys as the only thing that might count as a generic good game. And that's the one I saw the least of (had to get groceries some time this weekend...).

I thought by hoyasaxa

The Colts-Chargers game was a lot of fun to watch, even though the team I was rooting for lost.

Jags-Pats was entertaining, if not overly in doubt for most of the second half.

I literally slept through the second half of the GB-Seattle game because I wore myself out at the Georgetown game. I don't see any way that one gets counted as a good game.

though I don't dislike the Chargers (Mr. Rivers' acting like as big a [censored] as Tony Romo at the end of the game notwithstanding)

go Chargers, go Giants. I guess. meh, who am I kidding. I have absolutely no desire to watch another game this season.

In spite of the fact that I could almost walk to Gillette Stadium on a sunny morning I'm not a particularly large PATS fan. In fact, I'm not really much of a PATS fan at all.

But some of the trash I heard coming out of the mouths of some of the Chargers' players the other day? Sheesh. I mean, Billy B has to be licking his chops at the prospect of a 14-point underdog talking smack about his 17-0 team.

This could get ugly on Sunday afternoon, folks.

Diplomacy is the art of saying 'Nice doggie' until you can find a rock.

Not confirmed, but either a partial tear or a strained ACL for Rivers. He might not even play. Either way, I expect the Pats to blow them out. It's going to be over by half time. And yes, I probably won't be watching anyways.

So basically by hoyasaxa

drothgery and I are mortal enemies this weekend.

G-Men @ the Pack Sunday night
Orange @ Hoyas Monday night

Yikes.

I guess we'll both be pulling for the Chargers, but I'm only rooting for them because their game is first, and there's a chance the Giants win, and clearly I would rather face the Bolts than the Pats for the trophy.

... with the Pack and Hoyas winning, as there are good reason why they're heavily favored.

It's true by hoyasaxa

Georgetown looked very good today against ND. I'll be there Monday night. Hope we do the same.

Mike Carey, my second favorite ref after the incomparable Ed Hochuli, is doing the Super Bowl.

I'm also a big fan of Gene Sterafore.
