Baseball (and softball) should not be eliminated from the Olympics after 2008, and it's largely being canned at the behest of anti-American Europeans who don't think the game is played outside of the US.
They need to make it every 2 years instead of 4.
Im a little old fashioned, but werent the olympics about amateur sport? I know its not now, but I mean who would we send? Highschoolers?
"I am a jelly doughnut"
... we send minor leaguers and college players. Who have done pretty well considering; I'm pretty sure they pulled an upset (Cuba and Japan being the usual favorites, especially Cuba, because the Japanese pro leagues play in summer, too) and took the gold medal in 1996 or 2000.
included in the Olympics that it is hard to determine what to eliminate...much less what to include. Geez...most are stupid and silly "sports" anyway. Hmmm... just what constitutes a sport... I for sure can't provide that answer, and probably the Olympic Committee could not either...

I can't remember which country it is, but I recall that one country absolutely dominates international badminton tournaments. Clearly it's played there a lot. And it's a little more competitive than the backyard party engagements we have here in teh states. I say we ax it since we're no bloody good at it.
