Bonds, meet blackball

This is just silly. The guy can mash. Do you know who the mariners use at DH? Jose 'I havent been good since I was an expo' Vidro. JOSE FREAKING VIDRO!!!!

If you accept the argument that teams are not signing Bonds because he is a cancer in the locker room, he will bring the steriod stink around, the fans will revolt, ect. then I got some beachfront property in Montana to sell you.

If your into sabermetrics: 10 runs roughly equal 1 win. How many more wins would seattle have with Bonds at DH instead of Vidro? Answer: THEY WOULDA MADE THE PLAYOFFS

Im not a mariners fan, but I am a fan of organizations doing all they can do to win games. Bonds for 10 million is a no brainer. Could you imagine this guy with Tampa? Him and Pena and Crawford together and you have a lineup all of a sudden.

I dont get it.

You see, to win it's not about "runs created" and "outs" and all that stuff. To win you have to have "grit," "hustle," "chemistry," and you have to "play the right way."

Bonds walks too much. You can't have a guy "clogging the bases."

Look, in a league that continues to find work for David Eckstein and Dusty Baker, when neither has any business getting paid any where near the money they get, I wouldn't assume blackballing.

Fighting for conservatism one day at a time.

being exposed to charges of perjury and obstruction of justice outweighs pennant race.

Risk to whom? by Neil Stevens

Seems to me you can write that into the contract or, as is more likely, the standard contract already includes clauses that give the team an out if he's legally unable to play.

other team officials and associates. Ever heard of jailhouse confessions to fellow inmates? Prosecutors that seek out same. Its a distraction people don't want. See Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby.

The Feds already have there dirt on Bonds. They already have his former teammates, trainers, ect. who have ratted him out. The front office people should already be implicated, if they arent already, as it is laughable to assume the manager and everybody on up had no idea what was going on, particularly when you had Bonds drug dealing trainer inside the locker room, where the manager happens work.

The way I see it is they said they would not be going to court until at least 2009. That gives a window for a team to hire Bonds and use him without having to worry about Bonds having to do the 'Kobe Bryant' routine.

This guy makes your team better just by inserting him in the lineup. If there was a star hedge fund manager out there with a perjury charge hanging over his head, I would bet he would be able to find a job.

If Bonds is not signed because he asked for too much, thats one thing. It looks to me that there are teams that could use his offensive production, and with most teams flush with cash, could probably afford to aquire his bat.

On a side note, Ill say that my team is the Cubbies, but being Canadian am also a big Jays fan, the fact that they play in the Arena League of Baseball not withstanding.

The fact that the GM completely gutted the left side of the infield and is actually being hailed for it illustrates perfectly the messed up and completely irrational world that is Baseball.
